I dont know the average age of people in this class but I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say you remeber the Columbine killings on April 20,1999. I was in high school when this went down and before 9-11 this was the darkest day i had ever rember to that point. You would see footage of the police in a stand off and sounds of bombs exploding in the back ground, imagies burned in my brain and un able to shake. This was a ture american tragedy and instead of learning from it and respecting the lost live that day, a grown man, on the anniversity of the day, placed the same style of bomb in a local mall. While kids in high school today may just have a faint idea of what happened that day, others have vivid memorys of the horrors.
So i pose the question to this class, why would someone do this? A joke, a houx, a bad day, to much free time. You tell me. The silver haired man when to the mall in columbine and jolted the horrific memory into the police who servered that day, the parents who lost there childern, and the brother and sister who lost there best friends. If you could imagine what a how a parent would feel after loosing a high school student, and the morning that would take place. the last thing the parents want on 420 on any year after is to have the lost of they child pushed to the surface becuase of a houx. Why?
Why would someone do this? Unfortunately, there are some very sick people in this world. People can kill and have no remorse. It's scary to think people can take lives and really don't think twice about doing it. The OKC bombing for instance, to plan an attack like that and know that there are women, children, and elderly people who are going about their business is crazy. It makes me sad to think of innocent people losing their lives for a statement.
